The Algorithmic Myths workshop applied NXS’ specific content generation method to map out existing myths of algorithms, creating a collective lexicon of possible future counter scenarios that debunk those beliefs.
This two day workshop took place at the Design Department of the Sandberg Institute from 14-15 February 2019, and is linked to NXS#4 Algorithmic Anxiety. This issue investigates artificial intelligence in its various forms as an integral part of our everyday lives—how they affect human emotions and behaviours, our perception of ourselves and the world around us, and how they might eventually influence current or future evolutionary stages of the human species.
This workshop was an adaptation of the 48-hour Algorithmic Anxiety Bootcamp held in December 2018 at The Grey Space in the Middle in The Hague and is part of an open laboratory and research program on artificial intelligence of the Design Department of the Sandberg Institute and Gerrit Rietveld Academy in Amsterdam.
