NXS #3
SPRING 2018
←
»Shame as created postures, embodied emotions and behaviors that contribute to history and culture. Thank you for the heritage. «
—Josefin Arnell. When I'm Sick, I Feel for Radical Change.
Digital tools and online environments create new opportunities to transgress the boundaries of social conventions and expressions, transforming our understanding and stereotypes of what a body can and should be. NXS #3 Viral Bodies investigates the changing concepts of gender and identity norms in the digital space, and opens the discussion to many possible speculations and their real world implications. NXS invited modern witches, future oracles, polymorph muses, science fiction masters, cyberfeminists, body activists, dominatrices, biohackers, utopians techno poets to question the essence of the human form. They explore social conventions, share intimate moments and experiences of pain, love, hate and fear, delve into authenticity in the non-human sphere, code accidental bigotry on the internet, and question the diffusing lines between virtual technology and working bodies in reality.
